Ambush Alley -Winnable for both sides

Some game systems seem hard to win for certain sides so during the first two months of doing the participation games for the Royal British Legion we kept a track of how many games , who won (all games were Taliban -v-British ) .We staged the games at Wargames Emporium in Sheffield ,Barnsley wargames club and Sheffield and Rotherham Club and Sheffield Triples and in total we played 56 games with both sides usually played by "civilians" but occasionally one side run by either John or Myself. the outcome British 35 Taliban 21. Although nearly everyone wants to play the regulars I think this proves the gamers that draw the insurgents have a reasonable chance.

My wargaming targets 2010

With the fund raising I've been doing using Ambush Alley, I managed to get almost all of my 20mm Brits and taliban finished (at the moment I've 5 sas and 2 taliban to finish. But with Dave at Britannia bringing out more stuff this will be an on going project for some time.
Also for AA and FOF I've some Britannia Aussies and VC to start, 28mm malayan stuff from Inkerman and some 28mm ww11 bits as well. For Ambush Z I've loads of zombies and survivors to finish.

I've collected (but not painted ) a lot of Empress zulu war kit and I want to get these finished before I get anymore of these great figures.

Baccus 6mm ACW are also half done and gathering dust

And Peter Pig samurai are calling to play his wonderful samurai rules Battles in the age of war.

So loads to do and no doubt I will get side tracked into something else but I'm determined to make a hole in my lead mountain . I will keep you posted on my progress but words of encouragement would help?.

Fund Raising and Ambush Alley

Hi just a little about the reason we are doing so many demo games with the Ambush Alley system ,yes we do enjoy playing the game but John Grayson and myself give up our time and spend a lot of money travelling around to raise cash for the Royal British Legion .This wonderful charity takes care of our serving and ex service men and I could not think of a more deserving cause. All we ask is when people join in, or stop to ask questions or even just walk past,is that they make a small contribution (or a large one). For those who wish to donate to this fine cause and cannot visit us there is a link below to a donate on line system and no matter how you donate or how much it is every penny will go to the British Legion.PLEASE HELP THANK YOU

Ambush Alley

I always wanted a fast modern skirmish game, that wasn,t brain numbing and took all night to play but still had a realistic feel to it and most of all was enjoyable .It took a long time ,a lot of money on rule sets I played once and put away in the cupboard ,but eventually found Ambush Alley and I don't think I will ever change.A really good rule set that fitted everything I wanted, lots of supplements , a really good helpful forum and first rate support from the games makers. I've run demo's with lots of different rules and this is the only set that has had such a huge interest and almost every one that played has enjoyed, and the only one that I have really enjoyed running ,all I can say is if you don't have it GET IT NOW.
