Burrows and Badgers -Mouse Hunt

Our first game of B&B by Oathsworn last night,  we used the Mouse Hunt Scenario ,great fun with the Pirates of Pens Antz capturing Gromly the mouse burgler .A really great set of rules with some fun moments ,the pirate captain firing his pistol only to roll a 1 and have the pistol explode in his hand looking forward to playing more of this ,got so into the game forgot to take pictures only managed to get a couple .

2020 game challenge

After a poor start to the year gaming wise ive set John and myself achallenge , to play at least one game of every rule set and box game we own this year ( with only painted armies being used so a painting challenge thrown in as well)  , so after last years meagre effort playing wise ,see the list below we need to get moving .

so far we have only played one game of terminator genesis this year ,last year we managed 28 games of 17 different rule sets .

Terminator

my first game of the year at Sheffield Wargames Society this week we played Terminator the game by Warlord . A fast brutal game I played the Terminators John played the human resistance ,the Terminators walked it only losing a drone before pushing the Humans from the table.

Burrows & Badgers -my new craze

Kept this a bit quiet until I have everything ready ,and now the scenery and figures are all done (so far Ive taken part in the latest kickstarter, so lots more coming).

The Rules = A very nice hardback book ,with beutiful art work and lots of fun background and fluff , printed by osprey .It apears to be a very simple game played for fun with  a really  interesting campaign based game .Hopefully playing the game soon .

The Figures = What can I say, everyone of them i have purchased are beautiful full of character and no flash or mold lines to be seen ,the very big figures are resin the rest are metal ,all 1 piece castings so no sticking fingers to swords etc. You probably only need no more than six figures per side but im sure you will end up collecting all of the range I will . The Sevice from Oathsworn is amazing as well , less than a week from ordering to getting on my painting table ,they come well packed in plastic boxes which are handy and free.

scenery = This is made by Sarissa specifically for B&B but you could use any fantasy/medieval scenery .The lits are nice a mix of MDF and grey card so some gaps appeared in mine but again full of character all have removable roofs and floors were possible..

Other bits = Besides Oathsworns own web shop there is great facebook page with loads of downloadable stuff ,and Osprey have a section on the game as well .

A bit sparse on the wargaming front so far this year ,Ive been ill ,been busy at work My birthday and my good ladies in january , my latest grandsons christening all have stopped me and Im away on holiday next week ,so probably February before I get gaming .However Santa did bring me some goodies a complete new set up ,rules ,figures and scenery for my top secret project (all to be revealed soon ) and lots of bits for adding to the lead pile for other games. Hopdefully lots of updates soon .

Battleground Wargames Show

First show I've visited in a while and I probably wouldnt have gone if I hadn't arranged to see Lance from Galloping major . A small show with are parking and free entry , a couple of smaller traders that you dont see at other shows so made a nice change but nothing to make me want to go again , my purchases consisted of a few packs from Lance to help finish some units off ,some characters and one of his new packs of markers , some nice spanish guerillas from Eagle and of course a few bases from warbases ,a long way to go to spend lass that a £100 but we visited afew other places so worthwhile .

Played Ambush Valley in 28mm again ,another fast and furious game ,this time John took the VC and I had the yanks and amazing I won , captured the bunker complex but at acost of 1 Dead and 11 wounded .

Greys Scouts and Rhodesian African Rifles

My next batch of Eureka Rhodesians have arrived for my Bush wars project to be used with Ambush Alley or Specter operations ,a set of Greys Scouts the mounted unit that proved a excellent unit .and The Rhodesian African Rifles ,the all black infantry regiment that served with distinction during the conflict .Again lovely figures in fantastic poses .

Force on Force-Ambush,Valley

We went back to an old favourite for this weeks game ,Force on Force by Ambush Alley Games and we really enjoyed it ,we used the Ambush Valley supplement and 28mm figures .American Airbourne against NVA a great game with the NVA almost wiping out the yanks .
