new projects for 2017
Ive decided to try 3 new projects this year besides trying to finish off and add to my exsisting armies
Project 1 = 28 ACW ,after my visit to the ACW battlefields last year I thought about doing ACW in various scales 6mm,15mm and 20mm but decided on 28mm using the new edition of Sharpes Practice by too fat lardies ,I have picked the first battle of Bull Run for my armies so lots of colour and strange uniforms rather than the long lines of Blue and Grey .
Project 2 = The 8th army for the upcoming Battlegroup Tobruk rules this will be 20mm using Airfix ,plastic Soldier Company vehicles and SHQ infantry with a few odd items such as die cast aircraft etc .
Project 3 = 28mm WW2 skirmish using Bolt Action by Warlord games ,I had small forces of U.S Airbourne ,Germans and British bought me for christmas so doing very late war period Arnhem ,crossing the Rhine etc
No doubt each project will expand and I will update hopefully on a regular basis ,wish me luck .

ANZAC FSV's
2 more additions to my Anzac forces a pair of Airfix Fire Support M113;s ,I bought them 2nd hand with 1 still in kit form and 1 built .The built one had the rear panel fitted upside down so abit of stowage and some mud hid that just about. The aerials and HMG's were replaced and they don't look too bad I think .

Harrier W.I.P pt2

Airfix Harrier's work in progress
The pair of Airfix GR3's that I want for the Hunting the Harriers scenario in Cold War Gone Hot also entered them in a speed build for the Guild of Wargamer's pretty sure I am going to miss the dead line ( just been promoted at work so been training every day this week )but they are going together nicely and should not take much more work .Very little flash ,but the instruction sheet is very poor .I decided to glue the engine nozzle's in place on the second one rather than gluing all the bits together for the moveable nozzles that are part of the kits , to save time and make them a bit stronger for gaming use.

Airfix Harrier GR3
The great thing about being part of the Guild of Wargamers forum ,other than all the info is the number of painting /kit building competitions they have .They certainly inspire me to clear my lead and plastic mounting ,the latest one as me building my pair of Harrier kits I have had ages so 2 weeks to get them both finished ? .Will keep you posted.

20mm figure comparison
20mm figures side by side ,in the 1st photo the SHQ figure is bent forward I didn't realise until after so added another pic at the end with the fault put right .All of them are on English 1pence coins and are in varying states of readiness just grabbed from my workbench . The two cp figures show the first with the integral base and the other with a slotta type base with the tag removed as per their

Airfix Scimitar W.I.P
Had a Airfix Scimitar sat in my cupboard for about 4 years waiting for me to try and deal with it ,I had heard horror stories about how bad it was , but a few weeks ago Tim Gow asked if I could take a few snaps of the unmade kit for his brilliant history of Airfix reports on his blog .Well last night I took it into work for my night shift and cleared my desk and set about the kit , well after about 2 hours of trying to get the tracks on one of them eventually snapped so I decided to replace them with elastic bands they don't look too bad .I will have to base it I think to help hide the joints ,I did want to try and hide the joints under the front skirt / mudguard but the bands got a life of their own and refused to stick so had to join them under the wheels and they stuck straight away ?. Anyway thrown some S&S stowage on as every in the field photo I have seen of them they seem to have everything including the kitchen sink stowed on top /sides /front. Just need to paint and base and it will be taking part in the Royal British Legion, force on force game at Triples this year so pop and along and praise my lackey bands .

motivation
With trying to organise the raffle ,holidays ,kids ,grand kids , hospitals and work I've not done too much gaming or painting recently and I have just sat at my desk got every thing ready and then put it all away no MOTIVATION again ,last time this happened was when I needed to get my FIW stuff together for a game of M&T and I set my self a time limit and was pushed on by lots of encouragement from family and gamers and enticed by Elaine saying she would buy me lots of new toys if I finished plus kind words and freebies from Lance at Galloping Major ,so I have set myself a new challenge ,this time just to clear my work bench ,this consists of 2 S&S recce land rovers and a Airfix landie and trailer for my B.A.O.R cold war gone hot stuff these are about 50% finished . 9 samurai for ronin that are undercoated and stuck together ,3 Doctors and the master all Heresy models that are just sat looking sad not even glued together or even on bases , 4 airfix nato ground crew that were test figures for my cold war gone hot "hunting the harriers "scenario .This with a repair job on a die cast car and my bench will be clear , all this before the end of November ?. I might then put to the vote what part of the lead and plastic mountain is to be next ,so keep tuned.
