Ambush Alley solo
Ambush Alley is one of my favourite miniature rule sets and Shawn and Peggy gave me tremendous support when we were fund raising for the British Legion and as I am playing more solo games now days I remembered the original AA had solo rules so thought i would give them a try . I dug out my 20mm Brits and Afghans mainly Brittania miniatures but once Dave had passed away and Brittania were taken over ,the quality and service fell dramatically so my forces were made up of RH/Liberation models. I realised I didnt have many suitable builngs so put an order in for a few BLOTZ 20mm MDF buildings ,service quality and price are great the buildings in the first picture were just over £20.00 for 2 compunds and 4 smaller buildings .
The game played really well ,chose the contractor trouble scenario and the solo rules were great ,the Taliban almost pulling off a victory ,wounding 4 Brits before they managed to get away with the rescued contractors .Great fun

Anzac platoon for Vietnam
Finally got round to finishing my Anzac platoon for Ambush Valley .For the scenario I am working on the platoon consists of :
Platoon HQ:
1 x Officer
1 x NCO
1xRTO
1xRunner
1 xMedic
Then 3 sections each of:
Rifle Element 1
1 x section leader
1x scout
1x m60gunner
1x assistant gunner
1 x Rifleman
Rifle section 2
1 x Assistant Section Leader
1 x scout
3 x Riflemen
The figures are a mix of Brittania and RH which gives me a platoon made of almost individual figures, each carrying the correct weapon ,either M16's or SLR's.Tried basing to represent the famous thick red/brown mud and thejungle areas the Anzacs fought in .

RH Models -Australian S.A.S
When `i ordered my Ambush Valley Australian infantry off of Rolf at RH models I also ordered apack of each of his SAS for nam as well ,they are as always lovely ,they are in 3 packs ,one has 9 figures with different headgear and Rifles and smg's ,the second contains 3 with M203 grenade launchers an the last has 2 LMG's .The 9 figure pack is my favourite one chap has asterling with silencer another has a M79 grenade launcher in one hand and ashotgun across his chest , a alot of the figures I thinmk were inspired by the Anzacs in Nam osprey . Again as always there is little or no flash and the figures are full of character .

RH Models
Just as a thank you and as I have already had one of the winners of a prize ask me about where some of the prizes came from ,I have decided to do a small write up on each of the sponsors who provided prizes and support this year , in an irregular set of posts that will take awhile between work and family and painting . Hopefully this will benefit these generous people and you will support them by dealing with them as they supported our armed forces by helping our fund raising.
So in no order at all I will start with Rolf at RH models known to many as Liberation Figures , Rolf is a really nice chap which shows up in the fact he contacted me wishing to donate some of his wonderful figures as prizes , and contacted me on the day of the raffle wishing me luck .
Its hard to describe RH Models range as it covers almost all (if not all ) 20th & 21st century conflicts , a quick look at his web pages will amaze you if you are not already familiar with Rolf's figures. I personally bought some of his 80's British army and SAS , plus one of his vehicles and must admit I loved the figures especially the SAS a quick hunt back through this blog under cold war headings will show some of them . His ranges can are listed here www.rhmodels.com and here http://rhmodels.yolasite.com/ please visit both sites . Can I just say as well ,that both sets of figures he donated as prizes were stunning but the modern Russians were amazing and caused a bit of a stir on raffle day .
