Burrows and Badgers 2nd edition

I have just recieved my copy of Burrows and Badgers 2nd Edition , I love playing the original although i havent managed agame in a few months due to other games . The Second edition is still written by Michael Lovejoy who has amore than obvious passion for the game and its setting ,this time the art work is by Peter Johnson and it is the Art work that first jumps out at you ,I thought the B & W line drawings in the original gave it a fantastic feeling it remoinded me of a copy of Wind in the Willows I had when much younger but this new art work in full colour just jumps out at you and just screams for you to get playing, plus you get alovely free white mouse figure with it as well . I will be playing my first game with 2nd edition this coming weekend but at first glance whilst building our forces for the game everything whilst keeping the basic ideas it has become more streamlined and a few changes I have spotted so far is the use of Fate points but I will find out what other changes and how it all works this weekend . This edition also has more scenarios and campaign rules I am looking forward to getting these unusual armies back in play . Just recieved the latest kickstarter from Oathsworn for their Burrows and Badgers game , as usual beutiful figures full of charector . Their are 3 factions or warbands soldiers Kindred and outsiders and a free figure for ordering everything .

More painting ,Hellboy and Burrows and Badgers

Got another couple of the Hellboy Kickstarter figures done with Speedpaints ,really getting to grips with these army painter paints now , the figures are Hammerhead and the wendigo ,still lots of figures to doi from the last Kickstarter

Finished off the last figures from the Oathsworn kick starter "the streets of New Castle" with the towns folk being a lovely varied bunch including a Marmot Butcher , a mouse rushing her child to school , A rat plague Docter and a Pigeom Union Boss to name but a few ,as always fantastic figures and now Oathsworn have added some rules for townsfolk to mess with your battle plans I am looking forward to using them in our games . The last set are the City watch again amazing figures such a joy to paint ,I tried to make them appear to be part of a well organised group by using red and green on them somewhere in the clothing or armour as usual a varied mix of animals , hedgehog , mole ,otter shrews etc all with vafriuos armour and weapons and Oathsworn have provded specific rules for the City watch rather than just using the Roalist Faction rules from the main rule book .

Another figure with speed paints

Had another go with the speed paints ,this time a Badger mage from Oathsworn for Burrows and Badgers and i am impressed the figure was done completely with speedpaints not only do they save alot of time ,the way they run into the folds and thin out on the raised areas give you a finish that looks like its been shaded and highlighted .

New Burrows and Badgers supplements

Two new books from Oathsworn for their Burrows and Badgers game. The first is the Dillendorf Agreement ,a map based campaign system . A lovely book containing everything to run a campaign in the Kingdom of Northymbra ,2 to 6 players can run warbands to try and control the Kingdom. 50 colour pages in a card backed book comes with a seperate card campaign map. The second is the besst of gthe Oathsworn Journal which brings together some of the ideas and new rules printed in the free Journal published on an irregular basis. Why buy what has previuosly free you may ask ,its simple really the scenarios ,rules and new items in this are the final versions where they may have changed over a few issues of the journal so these are easier to find and it is a really nice book for the avid players to drool over and at over 50pages contains lots of great pictures of the B&B figures . With both books you recieve a code to order a free PDF ,so extra maps ,stats etc can be easily printed off 10/10

Inbetween painting the 10mm Korean wars stuff ,I am also trying to deal with some of my lead mountain . I decided to paint one of the gangs from the last Oathsworn kickstarter for Burrows and Badgers and chose the street gang obviusly inspired by a certain TV programme as always buetiful figures .

The latest kick starter figures have arrived from Oathsworn today ,as always well packed and beutiful miniatures . The 26 figures depict various beasts as towns folk who have special rules in an upcoming supplement ( test rules are in Oathsworn 5 for all 3 new factions), along with the city watch to protect them and the gang which remind me of Peaky Blinders lots of rough looking villains in flat caps and waistcoats Two new animals are included a pigeon Union Boss and a Chihuahua Watch Sergeant

Done the last lot of figures fromOathsworns last Kick starter ,just iin time for the next lot which i think are due about August. This lot are the Dark a evil faction led ny Necromancers who control Ghasts ,undead creatures of varying size ,the Necromancers can also control living beasts who mainly serve as cannon fodder or as a source of extra power for the Necromancers who drain their life force to enhance their spells . The rules for these are still in the play test stage but regular free updates and ideas are given in the free Oathsworn Journals

Burrows and Badgers , more painted figures

I was recently asked to organise a Burrows and Badgers game , so got my stuff out and found a box full of unpainted figures I had completely forgot about . I have managed to paint most of them , they were mainly from the Dark ,devout and heroic kickstarter , I picked a few out when I first recieved the figures and painted those but just forgot aboout the rest . The pics below show the remaining heroic and devout figures plus 5 others that I had sat in the pile ,I just have a dozen Dark figures left to do and then I will be ready for the next kick starter that begins in a few days . As always the figures are mainly metal with the large otter proest being resin all beutiful miniatures full of character .

 The latest kickstarter from Oathsworn for their Burrows and Badgers game arrived yesterday and wow have they surpassed themselves this time.Over 30 figures spread over 3 factions and each one is a work of art ,these latest ones add some figures for the normal game (the Heroic) then 2 new factions with new rules are the Dark ,undead led by necromancers and the Devout a group of Church led witch hunters ,rules are included in the latest Oathsworn Journal which is free to download but more in depth rules are in an upcoming supplement . Below are a few pics of some of the figures and hopefully I will get time to start painting and basing these beauties soon .
