Spectre Operations

Finished off a Few miniatures that I have laying around for a long time all mainly to be used for Spectre Operations .

These chaps are presidential Guards ,very nice figures from Crooked Dice 7tv range

These groups are Spectre African militia including a couple of heavily armed Nomads

More Militia but with a Middle Eastern look about them again Spectre Miniatures range

A couple of special forces types and a rather unusual limited edition figure "minimi Mouse " all 3 are spectre

A few odd bits

Finished a couple of bits that have been on my desk for months now .A couple of whizz kids pieces a giant snake and a giant scorpion and a pulp type rocket powered car suitable for my pulp heroes to dash around in ,no idea of the manufacturer but it was very cheap .`all posed with a 28mm pulp figure for scale ,the 2 crratures are suitable for a few fantasy and sci fi gamesas well as pulp

The Three Flavour Cornetto Trilogy -Part One

I am a great fan of the Edgar Wright Films ,Shaun of the Dead ,Hot Fuzz and Worlds end starring Simon Pegg and Nick frost , collectively konown as the the flavour cornetto trilogy due to the joke in Shaun where Nick Frosts character use a cornetto as a hangover cure ,although they have nothing in common other than Pegg ,frost and edgar wright thye are classed as a trilogy and have cult status now , the two mian actors plating different characters have fought zombies , a cult and an alien invasion .I plan to get all the main characters covered for Pulp alley ,7TV and last days ,Below are the first 3 I've finished , Peggs Nicholas Angel and Shaun and Frosts Danny Butterman .All hasslefree miniatures

 Finished afew more figures for Pulp Alley and 7TV based on 1960s ITV shows ,more for the nAvengers in the shape of Mother Brilliantly portrayed by Patrick Newell ,the Cybernaut a top villain that made 3 apperances in total ,Paul Beresford ,the Cybernauts creators brother out for revenge played by Peter Cushing .The next one is Roger Moores Simon Templar and finally the flamboyant Jason King played by Peter Wyngarde ,King had his own series and was also featured in Department S .Figures from Artizan and Crooked Dice

Greystoke the Legend of Tarzan lord of the Apes

Another lot of figures for Pulp alley ,really loving these rules they work so well in solo games. Always a fan of the Tarzan books and grew up with the weekly tv show with Ron Ely and of course the regular Wiessmuller screenings although the Gordon Scott movies are my favourite Tarzan movies and of course the Christopher Lambert film whose title I pinched for this post  is always worth a watch ,so below my first batch of figures for Lord of the Jungle .Figures a mix of Northstar and Copplestone

The Avengers --"Mrs Peel ,We're Needed"

One of my favourite 60's TV series also loved the 80's spin off ,the New Avengers so obvious I picked this for my Pulp Alley Legue and 7TV casts  ,must admit its easier to portray as a Pulp Alley League using the Duo perk I dont need any other characters and can use Mother as a associate off table as he should be and also portray the fact Steed never used firearms , a characteristic patrick Macnee brought in as in real life  he saw so much shooting during ww2 and lost so many friends due to it . I have so far found a suitable model for 2 of his early side kicks ,Emma Peel and Cathy Gale ,still neeed a Tara King ,also found a set of figures for the New Avengers which I will purchase at some point . A suitable Bentley in racing Green has joined my collection as well ,although especially in a lot of episodes Steed used other vehicles , the Bentley has become the icon of the series , it seems as well Patrick Macnee never mastered driving it and in long shots its a double driving it and in close ups its either in a studio in front of a moving screen or when outdoors he was pretending to drive it as crew pushed it along .. Figures all crooked dice

Seeing as alot of my Games of Pulp Alley ,7TV ,last days and others will be set in the UK from the 1960;s up to modern times i thought i would dig out these bits I have had for years and get the done ,nice little items all I think were Black cat bases stuff

 

The Names Bond -James Bond

 Not setting myself apainting target for December i pulled out my old James Bond project rebased them and painted up the few remaining figures ,the rebasing was onto the clear perspex bases ,ive always been put off by the dreaad of having to pin and drill all the bases and figures plus the cost of the clear bases but found a cheap supplier (10pence per base ) and tried using super glue and activator which was asuccess so no pinning needed .Figures are a mix of crooked dice.nexus ,artizan and copplestone .

A few Bonds ,the top pic looks wierd but they are the same scale just the angle and spacing of the figures ,LtoR Connery x 5  moore x2  

The best bit of any Bond movie should be the main villain lto r Blofeld (don pleasance ) Blofeld from the books Alex Trevalyn 006 and Hugo DraxThe unsung villains the boiler suited minions from a few of the films

and of course the sinister scientists showing off the latest gadgets ,potions and kipper tiesEvery good villain needs abetter henchman or woman ltor Jaws ,pussy Galore ,Nick Nack and the wonderfullynamed Xenia Oanatopp

 and finally the Bond helpers Anya Amasova (BarbabraBach ) and Jack Lords version of Felix 

Solo Zombie Gaming

I tried out 3 solo zombie rules add ons ,one after the other ,same scenario same scenery just different figures to suit the rules .You do need the main rules to pay all these
7TV Apocalypse survival horror solo rules
Chose these first just because I knew they would take a bit more organising getting the cards out etc , the rules are free from the Crooked Dice web site and are written to be used with their apocoylpse rule set . I used figures from the Crooked Dice apocalypse range ,the secret base and jail are from Crooked as well ,the mission to search the base  .The game played well ,although my survivors didnt survive long as each time they killed a zombie I rolled for respawned in the same place so the poor humans were soon over powered ,a ault in my die rolls not the games .You only use half the usual number of countdown cards as the zombies dont use them but I ran out of guys before I had turned them all over ,great fun .

Last Days on Earth ,Zombie Apocalypse 
This game from Osprey  didnt impress me in normal  play but is alot better in solo mode  just because you get more zombies for your money ,the solo rules are in a supplement called Seasons and are free off the face book page. Again a really good game the humans did a lot better but had to leave the base before anything useful was found .

Another freebie from Spectres webstore , another fun set I personally liked this one the best my SAS team kicked ass as well ,although it was a close run thing .

All 3 played well but in my opinion ,spectre was first ,7TV second and last days  er last but really close and all worth playing 

Zombies from many places including  ,studio miniatures , footsore ,heresy ,hassle free ,local graveyard .
