That Sinking Feeling

A couple of wrecked ships for Cruel Seas ,had these a while but only just got round to painting them, both 3 D prints from Magpie Designs ,I will use them as either scenery or as objectives in a rescue mission .The first is a 3 piece merchant man I tried to show in the act of breaking apart and the other aarmed trawler going down stern first .Based on card with Vallejo sea effect

Night Convoy -A cruel Seas game

We played Cruel Seas again last night ,we will soon need to change the games name as it now doesnt have much of a resembalance to Warlords game.  We played night time action with the Royal Navy trying to intercept an Italian Convoy ,The italians put up an epic defence but The RN reinforcements turned up and 2 Torpedoes hit 2 transports sinking both immediatley with the remaining 2 managing to creep away whilst their escorts put up a great covering action .The random reinforcements and arrival points added a lot to the game .At somepoint soon we will playtest the aircraft rules then write up; our house rules and amendments .

Cruel Seas -RN v IJN

Another try out of our house rules  alterations to Warlords Cruel seas (pretty much only the movement rules for boats are original ) really good fun especially when a stray Torpedo from a vosper sank the flower class corvette .

Managed to get a some more finished for cruel seas , flower class corvette and a pairof Fiarmile D dog boats , the flower is a skytrex model sold as a warlord games model and the D's are Heroics and Ros ,all really nice models in resin with white metal guns and crew etc .I have painted and numbered them for the Med .

Cruel Seas -USA v Italy

Played our third game of Cruel Seas using our house rules ,to try most of the rules , John used all his yanks and I put out all my Italians , lots of fun the U.S just managed a points victory .Next game will include aircraft to try out the rule adaptions .

Islands and coastal cliffs for cruel seas

Ordered some scenic bits for cruel seas fron Total System Scenic  ,I got 3 islands and 2 corner section of coastline cliffs with beaches for those commando raids ,fantastic delivery and lovely detail on the scenic items .10/10

Cruel Seas First Games

Manged to play cruel seas using our house rules last night at the club ,we got in 2 games the "ships in the night " and the "Torpedo Run" scenarios from the main rule book . The first game was fast and bloody but all my 2 vospers just managed to escape but with very heavy damage and the Torpedo run finished with one of my vospers sitting floating along with no damage points left waiting to be resued or captured and the other being forced to leave the table with crew and bridge hits but luckily one of its Torps managed to hit the tanker which although ablaze was still under power so technically a German victory .The house rules certainly made the game more realistic and fun . Next week Johns Yanks take on my Italians .

Fairmile D's for Cruel Seas

Bought a couple of Fairmile D MTB's from Heroics&Ros to see what they were like compared to Warlord Games offering and to be honest they are not bad ,not as much detail as teh Warlord ones and they dont come with the cards but at £11 for 2 compared to £30 for 2 from warlord I think I can live with them and the cards are available from the facebook groups that are dedicated to the game.I also bought some aircraft as well again around .75p -£3.00 each here the warlord ones are £10 for 3 .

Finished my Italian Navy fleet box and also a merchant ship which I have left with no mrkings so it can fit into a convoy for any nation .The Italians consist of a Gabbiano class corvette which I showed off in an earlier post , MZMotozattera a well armed conversion of a german f lighter , another  f lighter with italian weapons but still able to carry a 100 men or 3 light tanks and 4 MAS boats really fast but lightly armed and armoured MTBs .
