Blofelds field trip , A james Bond scenario for Pulp Alley

 first off Happy New Year to you all , My first game of 2021 was asolo pulp alley game ,I am still not feeling any where near a 100% so justkept the game simple to get used to the mechanisms and see what I thought . The game is greata nd the solo rules work really well using a special solo deck of cards and taking complete control of one side or league as they are called in the game and the cards and simple rules guide the other . My home grown scenario was for Blofeld and the bad guys to find and capture a scientist in his south american hideaway and Bond and his small group to stop them . Went well Blofeld found the Prof straight away and while he and Nick Nack persauded the scientist to join their palns for world domination ,Jaws and a gang of boiler suited minions kept watch for any inerfearing good guys . Bond ,Felix Leiter and Anja Amasova arrived and then things went wrong for the good guys ,Bond and Felix both drew cards that prevented them doing much but our KGB heroine went straight into action ,sadly staright into the arms of Jaws and made a sudden departure ,maybe to return in the sequel .Anjas sudden demise pushed Bond and his CIA friend into a flurry of vengeful action , the first to feel the wrath of our intrepid agents was Jaws , no easy task it took both good guys to empty their guns into him before the Giant fell . Meanwhile Blofeld ,nick nack and the prof had got into the geta way car but Nick Nack had trouble reaching the pedals and was stuck for a while , whilst Bond quickly took care of the gang of minions ,Felix advanced to stop the baddies from leaving and has poor nick nack found the keys to the car felix took some well aimed shots putting the vehicle out of action . The car caught fire and blofeld and Nick nack escaped leaving the poor boffin to his fate ,howeevr in an heroic act our side kick Felix rescued him from the wreck adn Bond sent our little villain to the great fantasy island in the dky while securely capturing Blofeld . ( who will probably escape from custody for another attempt at world domination). below are some pics I took .Figures are all crooked dice ,buildings charlie foxtrot ,cars assorted 1/43 scale die casts .Table from Urban matz and mat is aWarlord one they sold for Dr Who .

Muskets and Tomahawks

 Ive been struck down with a really painful throat infection but managed to get my first game of Muskets and Tomahaks 2 in before I lost my voice and found my self struggling to do most things .I must admit I enjoyed playing the first version of M&T and was looking forward to v2 until i recieved it and found out the supplements , cards and tokens were really poor quality so put off playing until now. Well the game is excellent really enjoyed playing it and we were playing without too much consultation  of the books after a couple of moves ,The game itself went back and forth and we were not sure who would win until the very last move , a very exciting and bloody adventure with the Brits stealing the game in the end .The random drawer of cards which can give you your opponents cards to play actually added alot of suspense and made it very tactical . A bit of a Pig-sty

In my quest for terrain I decided to make a pig sty . I chose the MDF kit from Charlie Foxtrot because I think it will fit in any where and any time from the dark ages to modern ,from America to japan to the UK ,(if there are any purists out there who know i wrong please contact me on " I dont care @stupid mail.com" ,only kidding but I dont really care about secondary terrain  I remember the days at Sheffield wargames society when the 15mm rorkes drift appeared every where except Zululand , if the item is amajor part of the game I try and get it right if possible .The kit itself was really easy to put together and comes with two types of fencing and the little hut and a coupe of bases for your piggys though these arnt included ,mine are warlord plastics.I didnt paint it up as the wood effect looks old and tatty all i did was put some army painter brown flock on the base and a bit of greenery along the outside fence, a really nice ,useful kit at a nice price it will be making afew appeareances in my games.

The possible target of a raid for hungry troops are just innocent bystanders ,these will be appearing in a battle near me soon

Finished the second building ,this time a hermitage and this one was easier  to build than the first ,fitted together in a few minutes (plus drying time) so easy as everything just fits together so easily .Probably buy a lot more of these I can see a full village making an appearance .

In the past i have purchased lots of counters ,movement trays etc from Charlie Foxtrot and have sseen their buildings but thought they looked complicated,well I purchased 2 recently to use in my planned Sharps Practice games set in the peninsular .I started one last night and finished it today ,what asimple task it was ,the parts fitted together really well and following the instructions on the web site I think I made it look fairly nice . The kit is MDF and resin and includes aouple of optional bits and replacents for the fiddly mdd shutters .Will be making the second one this weekend and hopefully show them off together . 10/10

Charlie Foxtrot Counters

Ive bought a few bits off Charlie Foxtrot and have always had good service and the bits Ive bought have always been nice ,but I ordered a few shieldwall markers off them and I really like these ,even though they are simple designs I suppose ,I will use them in my clash of Empire games you get 8 of the triple shield markers for £1.75 a real bargain .
