Royal Marines Artic Warfare Troops

painted up the Design For Battle Royal marines to use in our Rogue warrior Ice Base Zero scenarios ,Really nice figures to paint up I based them on Photos of the Marines taking part in joint manouvers with Finnish troops .Hopefully get a few games in while I am on leave for the next 3 weeks

Artic Warfare

The new supplement for Rogue Warrior arrived recently ,Ice Base Zero introduces arctic Warfare and all the problems that go with it ,hyperthermia , thin ice etc and some things you normally wouldnt meet such as Zombies and Monsters ,this book also introduces Drone Warfare . So anyway new book new figures is my motto so ordered the Future Commando Force Royal Marine Arctic Warfare figures from Design for Battle,These are amazing figures full of detail with loads of equipment and great action poses they come in 2 sets the first has 5 figures 3 of them are moving forward armed with Colt C8 rifles ,one is kneeling firing his C8 with a javelin slung across his back the final one in this set is a FAC who comes with a type 163 lazer designator . The second pack has 4 figures 2 on skis ,1 firing a firestreak Missile and one firing a HMG ,the ski figures are especially nice , and a figure of a Royal Maring taking out a Russian Para with his fairburn Sykes Knife was a nice surprise in the box as well . The Rogue Warrior campaign Book looks as good as the others in the series and the Design for Battle Figures are top quality and delivered very quickly .

Operation Nimrod -30th April -5th May 1980

This Month see the 45th Anniversary of the SAS rescue of hostages in the Iranian Embassy in London ,I remeber watching a film on TV when it cut to the live assault by Men in Black wearing respirators and swinging on ropes and explosions going off , this was my first knowledge of the world Famous regiment . Below is a shot of 2 books by Rusty Firmin who took part in the raid and the Film 6 days based upon his Book GO Go Go also on show are 2 acrylic ornaments one showing the famous winged dagger (actually Excalibur ) and the famous balcony shot from the siege ,both made to celebrate the anniversary and both signed by Rusty Firmin.
