We have just spent 8 days in Devon and 2 days in Portsmouth so whilst there and on the way down and back we visited as many graves and memorials for the survivors of the Anglo - Zulu war as we possibly could ,I know we missed some and could not get entry to a couple of memorials and tombs due to locked churches but below are the fellows we visited in the order we found them .We tried when possible to give the markers a good clean as we usually do but we did have limited time as we had other places to visit and things to do .

| one of the commissariat at Rorkes Drift -sadly his original grave along with many others was destroyed during the blitz on Plymouth and all their remains were moved to another cemetery and put into unmarked graves ,recently a plaque was put up thanks to the efforts of a serving Royal Marine . | Schank and Munro above are both buried in Teignmouth old cemertery a lovely place being restored by volunteers one of them agreat chap named Dave not only found Schanks grave for us but also provided lots of info and documents as well , sadly it looks like the local council had ideas for the use of this prime land so our heroes may lose their buetiful resting place ,so if you intend to visit please do so soon and support these great volunteers |
