Holocaust PT5 - Sachsenhausen

More than 200,000 people were imprisoned in Sachsenhausen between 1936 and 1945, thousands of whom died . 3 months after the liberation Sachsenhausen was put to its former use by the Russians to house minor Nazi's and other political undesirables by the time the camp closed in 1950 another 12,000 had perished there .  Almost in perfect condition other than a few huts that were set on fire by locals in the 50's and the gas chambers and crematorium which are in ruins the camp is now a memorial .
