Galloping Major Provincials

I have eventually had the operation on my throat ,so whilst recovering thought I would get some painting done. I am waiting for a GHQ delivery from the war-games emporium to do up for the upcoming Joy of Six show so while I am waiting I dug out some of the fantastic Provincial troops from Galloping Major .I have lots of Lances figures and these are my favourites and found myself putting them off in case I cannot do them justice but here goes any way ,The officer is one of Lances soldiers free see the galloping major site for more info .

Tynemouth Coastal defence Battery

The Castle & Priory and now unused Coastgaurd station

We are members of English Heritage and visit many various sites ,we recently went to Tynemouth Castle and priory a fascinating place with history dating back over 2000years ,but it has a long history as coastal defence site as well and the ww1 and ww2 defences and guns are open to the public  .The underground bunkers contain displays on how guns were loaded and munitions were stored ,a great day out really .For more info and pics on the many castles and historic buildings we visit my partners blog ,Winters wonderland  there is link to the right ,its general blog on family things but Elaine posts all the castle related stuff on there  .

Muskets & Tomahawks

Galloping Major Rangers

Northstar hurons

Buildings from 4 ground
A quick game of M&T tonight ,200pts a side which gave a quick bloody game with the Ranger and Mohawks sneaking a last turn victory over the French . These rules are really the bees knees for this period and with such great ranges of figures from people such as Galloping Major and North star you can't go wrong at the moment if your into the F.I.W
