Crich Memorial

A must visit memorial next door to the tramway museum is the Memorial tower dedicated to the Sherwood Foresters and all the amalgamations of that regiment ,a number of plaques around the tower are dedicated to the fallen of WW1 & 2 and the fallen in conflicts after 1945 and to famous officers of the same regiment .£1.50 to park and 20p to go to the top of the tower and this all goes to the upkeep of the tower and grounds which are lovingly cared for by the tower warden and a team of volunteers all of whom are friendly and willing to spend time chatting about the tower.

Harrier W.I.P pt2

The Harriers are coming along nicely but are not going to be finished in time for the guilds speed build but may be making an appearance at Triples as targets for soviet special forces ,time allowing .

Airfix Harrier's work in progress

The pair of Airfix GR3's that I want for the Hunting the Harriers scenario in Cold War Gone Hot also entered them in a speed build for the Guild of Wargamer's pretty sure I am going to miss the dead line ( just been promoted at work so been training every day this week )but they are going together nicely and should not take much more work .Very little flash ,but the instruction sheet is very poor .I decided to glue the engine nozzle's in place on the second one rather than gluing all the bits together for the moveable nozzles that are part of the kits , to save time and make them a bit stronger for gaming use.

50,000 not out

Just noticed I have crept over 50,000 page views ,so I must be doing something right on here  ,306 posts ,54 followers 161 comments from such people as Harvey Black the author and Tim Gow the world renowned war gamer and nice guy ,at least 88 different countries have stopped by ( I did not put flag counter on for about 3 months ) . Hopefully my humble blog will keep being viewed some one has just offered to make a nice donation to the British Legion if I reach 100,000 by the end of the year  , so I will have to try and entertain every one with my ramblings and to all that have viewed and returned and made those comments ,thank you .

Airfix Harrier GR3

The great thing about being part of the Guild of Wargamers forum ,other than all the info is the number of painting /kit building competitions they have .They certainly inspire me to clear my lead and plastic mounting ,the latest one as me building my pair of Harrier kits I have had ages so 2 weeks to get them both finished ? .Will keep you posted.

20mm figure comparison

20mm figures side by side ,in the 1st photo the SHQ figure is bent forward I didn't realise until after so added another pic at the end with the fault put right .All of them are on English 1pence coins and are in varying states of readiness just grabbed from my workbench . The two cp figures show the first with the integral base and the other with a slotta type base with the tag removed as per their
 instructions .
